You may notice to the side that my Now Reading list includes Stardust by Neil Gaiman, one of the world’s best authors. So far, I have to say it is a very good book and an absolute delight to read. There is a good reason it has a 4 1/2 stars (out of 5) review [...]

Redefining Chocolate
Posted in General on Apr 24th, 2007
The FDA is considering to loosen what can be called chocolate so the chocolate industry can make chocolate cheaper.
The US Food and Drug Administration is considering redefining ‘chocolate’ to allow substitution of vegetable oil ($0.70/lb.) for cocoa butter ($2.30/lb.), and whey protein for dry whole milk. There are already standard terms to differentiate these [...]
While if we do move, we’ll probably move to the Chandler area so that we can work in the Phoenix area. Prescott is the area that appeals to me most, but, unfortunately moving there, or Payson, or anywhere that far seems to limit my career options. Anyhow, here is a little song about Prescott. Not [...]
Which Star Wars Character Am I?

…As if there was any doubt… LOL
This is how Sara scored:
Which fits probably better than mine did.
Here are some directions from Ohio to London, England. Step 14?
Swim across the Atlantic Ocean 3,462 mi
It doesn’t seem to work going across the Pacific, just Atlantic crossings. You can also try going to Paris and a few others.
It is time again. Time to consider relocating from this dying city, and dying faster now that Hoover is closing shop, and move to a better place. Something warmer and sunnier.
Before we go on our tour, make sure you get Google Earth, perhaps one of the coolest tools around, as I’ll have a “(Go there)” [...]
The Most Amazing Printer Ever!
Posted in General on Apr 15th, 2007
As a small aside, I thought A4 was 8.5 x 11, but apparently that is just a North American standard. Paper Size at the Wikipedia has more information than I’ll provide here, but it appears once again North America is out of step with the rest of the world on reasonable standards.
Silverbrook Research has came [...]
DFI’s 680i Based Motherboard Out Soon
Posted in General on Apr 8th, 2007
DFI, who’s LanParty series of motherboards are among the best motherboards out there, will soon (end of the month I have read, so perhaps give it until the end of May) release a new LanParty based on nVidia’s 680i chipset.
What is odd is that it uses the 680i LT chipset, which supposedly wasn’t as full [...]
When Did the Vernal Equinox Come?
Posted in General on Mar 21st, 2007
If you have a few calendars around the house, go consult them and see when they say the vernal equinox comes this year, if they do at all. Go ahead, I’ll wait. We’ll, if you have a few that do say what day, there is a chance they may conflict on when they say the [...]
You have a far better chance of dying from the next mega asteroid striking the Earth than of dying from a terrorist strike, yet our government figures it is better to spend multiple billions to fight the war on terror than 1 billion on locating and tracking the potentially killer asteroids. Of course killer asteroid [...]
Ari at the Astronomy Club
Posted in Ari Update, General on Mar 13th, 2007
Last Saturday, after we cleaned the house, I took Ari out of Sara’s hair for a little while and took him to a public star gazing party at the Astronomy Club of Akron (I myself was a member… 30 or so years ago…) Ari had a great time, as did I. These star gazing parties [...]
Dark Tower Graphic Novel Out

I missed it somehow, but Stephen King’s Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born #1 (Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born), the first of the new Dark Tower series is out… I must get to the comic store tomorrow and pick it up as the book series was incredible. The comic series goes in proper chronological order, where [...]

We got a family package to the North Canton YMCA the other day, and Ari will start swim lessons and gymnastics here soon. We took him once so far to the pool. It took a while to get him to go into the water much, but then he pretended to swim and that was going [...]
Anniversary
Posted in General on Feb 17th, 2007
Thursday was our 4th Anniversary. I had made arrangement to get half a day off work and for Sara’s mom to watch Ari in an attempt to surprise Sara with a dinner. The surprise part didn’t really work out, but we had a really nice dinner.
Best Anti-Virus Out There, Cheap
Posted in General on Feb 17th, 2007
Kaspersky Anti-Virus is generally considered the best anti-virus package out there. I used to use it eons ago, but when I upgraded my computer, I didn’t renew and started using the free version of AVG Anti-Virus, which is a very good anti-virus, but isn’t as actuate as Kaspersky (but better than Norton, but then again, [...]

2007 Time Zone Update for Windows
Posted in General on Feb 7th, 2007
Want to make 100% sure your computer will update for the new Daylight Savings Time changes that take place this year? While there will likely be an automatic update available, you can download the update here. You will need Windows XP, or Server 2003 to apply the update (they are included in Vista), so if [...]

They install it, maintain it and do all the permits. You pay the same electric rate you do now for 25 years, so this can save you a ton over the time period. (We don’t qualify as you need a phone line, needed for the monitoring system, nor does our electric provider, AEP, provide net [...]
May I present to you an amazing and wonderful little video titled “The Little Girl Giant,” which was part of The Sultan’s Elephant, a big show put on in London. It is basically a giant 3 or 4 story high marinate of a little girl who is awaken by a time traveling elephant.
The whole thing [...]
Check out this video series about Medical Marijuana. I marked it in politics though it shouldn’t be a political issue, but do to the US treatment of medical marijuana…
