Another cool episode I thought. Getting back to the Lost pace of before. Unfortunately, for some reason, ABC is taking the next week off.

Super Bowl XL - Commercials
Posted in TV Shows on Feb 6th, 2006
Nothing exciting the second half. I did forget Ford’s Kermit the Frog “It isn’t Easy Being Green” ad from the first half which was good. Dove’s Self Esteem ad was touching. Three Super Bowl worthy commercials, kind of sad actually. Still, the FedEx Caveman/Fed Ex Doesn’t Exist Yet ad takes the top spot IMHO. Sara [...]
SuperBowl XL - Commercials - First Half
Posted in TV Shows on Feb 5th, 2006
Through the first half of the game, the best commercials so far were the Federal Express “FedEx Doesn’t Exist Yet” ad, and Sprint’s Crime Prevention or something like that ad. Of course I missed the first bit of the show, I didn’t come into the game until 6:30 or so.
As far as the game, good [...]
Battlestar Galactica S2E15 - Scar
Posted in Battlestar Galactica, TV Shows on Feb 5th, 2006
After the somewhat boring S2E14 episode, Black Market, we get another great episode of Battlestar Galactica. [I know, I know, I am way behind on the survivor count, I'll try to catch up soon.] It wasn’t that Black Market wasn’t a good episode, but seemed to be more filler then any other episode so far.
I just saw John Strossel’s Stupid in America, which is about the American Education system.
Some notes:
We always hear news reports on how much lower kids do in school compared to other countries. However, in 4th grade, children in America test well above average, it is in high school when scores get to the abismal, far [...]

Lost S2E12 - Fire + Water
Posted in Lost on Jan 25th, 2006
I am still watching the episode, our last until 8 February… so just a week off.
Finished it. A few notes will will follow in a bit. I actually thought it was kind of a week episode. We didn’t really learn anything new about Charlie in the flashbacks, at least nothing worth while it seemed. [...]

24 is gearing up for another cool season.
One can only hope the kid is out of the way, but I have to guess that somebody is going to take the kid, and perhaps his mom just to force Jack’s hand.
Sean Astin joined the cast this year. Not sure yet what to make of his character. [...]
Battlestar Galactica - S2E13 Epiphanies
Posted in Battlestar Galactica, TV Shows on Jan 21st, 2006
Another great episode. I am not sure I like their solution to keep Roslin around, but I’ll be okay with it. Baltar giving the Pegasus 6 the nuke was something we had to see coming. What isn’t clear yet is if the one guy is a Cylon or not, or her guard. I am not [...]

The History Channel - Lincoln
Posted in TV Shows on Jan 17th, 2006
I am 1 1/2 hours into the History Channel’s special on Lincoln. So far so good.
I don’t like the jumping back and forth in the time line as it makes things harder to keep track of. I understand the need to do it for dramatic effect, particularly when they go from his last day to [...]

The 10 Commandements of Lost

The Fuselage (the official site of the creative team behind Lost) has a post called “The Ten Commandments of Lost, and which ones this episode broke.” It is very funny.
