The original theatrical versions of Star Wars will be coming to DVD for a very limited time on September 12th (story). Once again Han will shoot first! I don’t have much of a problem with cleaning the digital effects up, so long as we could get the original versions, and now we can. I did [...]

With four episodes to go in this season of Lost (with the final episode being two hours long) the Season 2 box set is already on sale.
For some reason however, at this moment, while I can get to the page, I can’t get it to find it for the link . It’s ASIN number is [...]
Speaking of May Day
Posted in Movies on May 1st, 2006
Speaking of May Day, Robin Hardy’s follow up to his original cult classic, The Wicker Man finally seems set to start filming. It has gone through a few name changes, from “The Riding of the Laddie,” to “May Day” where Sean Astin and Vanessa Redgrave joined the cast with Christopher Lee (who plays a different [...]
My long time favorite of the DVD Review/News sites is DVDFile. I never could get into DVD Talk, too me it was nothing more then a second rate site that I had to suffer with while DVDFile was essentially down for a short while. DVDFile is perhaps my biggest source of Blu-ray/HD-DVD news that I [...]
Much like I fixed the not having The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Special Two-Disc Collector’s Edition), I need to soon fix not having Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen Edition with Bonus Disc) on DVD. How is this possible? I don’t know, I never got around to getting it. I [...]
I have yet to pick up The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Special Two-Disc Collector’s Edition) (there is a single disk edition The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Widescreen Edition), but you may as well spend the extra few bucks to get the [...]
Ari and Happy Feet
Posted in Ari Update, Movies on Feb 12th, 2006
I was looking at movie trailers online, when the trailer for Happy Feet came up, he started dancing. The music stopped for a moment and he started to walk away, but then the music started again and he danced his little dance again. It definitely seems to be his favorite style of music to dance [...]
Clerks 2 - Teaser is Out
Posted in Movies on Jan 10th, 2006
The Clerks 2 - Teasers is out. The Sean Astin appearance at the end is very funny. I loved the original Clerks and all his other movies, so I can’t wait for this one to come out.

Chronicles of Narnia
Posted in Movies on Dec 27th, 2005
My mom called and offered to treat me to Chronicles of Narnia, so I was like tuga!
I personally found it to be a very good movie. It isn’t as big and vast a fantasy as Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, but it wasn’t written to be, nor do I think it tries to [...]
Seems this video is getting passed around enough that NBC has put up an official page for it… well an official video of it anyhow.
By the way, the “Dropping Hamiltons like Aaron Burr” line in the video refers to the famous dual between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton which resulted in Hamilton’s death, and was [...]
From a recent SNL skit, comes the The Chronic of Narnia Rap, a very funny video of some guys doing a rap on their way to watch the Chronicles of Narnia.
MirrorMask Joy
Posted in Movies on Dec 18th, 2005
I managed to get a copy of Mirrormask and I am about 35 minutes into it and loving it. The official DVD release date will be 7 February 2006 and it looks like I’ll have to get it. It looks like the DVD will have a commentary track with both writer Neil Gaiman (creator of [...]
King Kong - Disappointing
Posted in Movies on Dec 16th, 2005
This isn’t to say it was a bad movie. It was worth the $4 it took to see it, and it is decently entertaining, if a bit too long. The problem is that it doesn’t live up to what I wanted and expected. The CGI and miniatures in parts were bad, most notably anytime Kong [...]
Did they Really Need to Make that Movie - Part… I Lost Count
Posted in Movies on Dec 12th, 2005
In the category of Did They Really Need to Make that Movie - Part… I lost count already… I bring you Miami Vice. Now, I admit, I like the show well enough, and the trailer looks cool, but come on now…. Of course I’ll still watch it, so I guess I shouldn’t put in the [...]
Serenity, one of the coolest movies of the year will be out 20 December 2005. You need to buy this movie for yourself and another copy for each loved one (okay, one per household). It was awesome. The show it was based off of, Fireflys remains on Amazon’s best seller charts. If the movie sells [...]
MirrorMask bummer again

I failed to get arrangements to watch Ari and to get to Cleveland, so I didn’t get to see MirrorMask.
King Kong Trailer is out!
Posted in Movies on Nov 4th, 2005
The trailer for Peter Jackson’s King Kong is out. Looks fantastic.
Peter Jackson made the Lord of the Rings films, and it is the original King Kong that made him want to be a film maker in the first place. Unlike some of the other remakes, he kept King Kong in the 1930’s. I have been [...]
MirrorMask out

MirrorMask is finally playing at the Cedar Lee in Cleveland… Now to find a way to get to Cleveland and watch this movie. I must watch this movie.
I am a huge fan of Amelie. I thought it was an incredible French film. I am also a fan of The City of Lost Children, and only today learned that Jean-Pierre Jeunet was the director of them all. So the guy who did Amelie is also the guy who did the much maligned Alien [...]
