Tuesday, Sara was going to go to Niagara Falls with a friend, her daughter and Ari. (Well her original plan was to see the Dali Lama, and while her name was drawn for second chance tickets, she was unable to go pick them up in person a week before the event, so there went that [...]

I posted some of the pictures of the trip Ari and I made to Stan Hywet Hall up at Flickr. I may post some of my favorites directly to a separate page (so people don’t have to wait a long time for the main page to load).

After the obligatory heavy post prior to this one today, we move on to much lighter fair.
I took Ari to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens to see the “Butterflies in Flight,” and “Trains Across the Valley” exhibits yesterday. He really enjoyed both, but I think he enjoyed the trains far more. I am trying to [...]

This is Ari’s new pet Green Iguana, Quincy.
We chose Quincy as it was a nice unisex(ish) name. If it turns out to be a girl, we’ll just shorten it to Quinn.
I got rid of the mice the other day by abandoning them at a local abandoned house (somehow no condemned notice is on it, [...]

Ari sometimes calls me Brian rather than dad. It reminds me of a girl I knew who called her dad by his name… Needless to say, I generally will ignore him until he calls me dad, or after a few million times of it, will tell him “Ari, I am dad,” where he normally switches [...]

Ari has stopped going for the most part to the restroom. He still does from time to time, but not nearly as much as he was for a while there. Hopefully he’ll get back into it again soon.

For two days, Ari went around the house, without a diaper most of the time so he could go potty when he wanted to. This went fairly well, with few accidents. On the Fourth we went to my mom’s, and there he had pants on and told us when he wanted to go. While there [...]

Ari yesterday, and so far today, has gone without a diaper and no real accidents (save at night when he sleeps). He simply goes to his potty and goes. So he is well on the way to potty training.

Ari is back home after spending the week at Sara’s parent’s house. With Sara gone, I would have had to take Ari out there each day and pick him up each night as he slept. It was decided it would be best to leave him alone most nights and for me just to visit him [...]

Ari, after going “poo” in his diaper, has taken up taking off his pants, then his diaper, then sitting down on the couch… this results in a mess of course… He also tries to toss his old diaper into the trash, which is not easy for him since the gate is up to keep him [...]

Well, Ari didn’t shave, but Sara did cut his hair. See the pictures of his haircut in the Flickr part in the sidebar.

Not his best rendition of it, and I caught him after he did a fairly good job of it, but here is Ari singing Twinkle Little Star. For some reason the audio track is off slightly, although it matches on my local copy.

We took Ari to the park with my dad and Carole Anne. Ari had a really fun time, chasing ducks and geese. He would hold his hands out in front of him saying “rubber ducky” as he chased them. They took pics, so when they get some to us, I’ll post them. Had I thought [...]

Ari ignored his mother’s advice not to run near the steps outside the house the other day and rolled off the steps in what seemed like slow motion to me. While he got a couple big scratches, I think it scared him more than hurt him. “Bad rake,” he said to the rake that [...]

If you have wondered where to put your snot after picking your nose, wonder no more. Ari’s solution was to put it in his mom’s nose. I guess that was a belated Happy Mother’s Day gift for her.

Yesterday I was about to post a couple birthday wishes (Murach’s C# 2005, Visual Studio Standard Edition Academic, etc.) and then realized, oh, my birthday is gone already. Perhaps denial? I would think I am too young to be in denial about my age…
Sara made a cake and we all ate it. Oddly, when I [...]

Ari is back home again. The doctor released him. He seemed happy to be home, at the same time it was near bed time, and he was tired. Still, finally not having an IV in him seemed to bring a smile to his face as he could finally walk where he wanted and when he [...]

As of Sunday, 23 April 2006, 12:48 p.m. EDT, Ari is still in the hospital. He is feeling better, and it looks like he may go home tonight so long as his diarrhea doesn’t get too bad. He’ll probably have it for a week to ten days, but the problem last night was that it [...]

Ari’s recovery Thursday was briefly lived. Friday he was sick again, and soon after I got to work, Sara called me had me come back home to take Ari to the emergency room. It sucks having only one car… So after about 3 hours or so of waiting, they finally start him on an IV, [...]

I could have just edited my last Ari post and added this to that, but I am too lazy…
Ari enjoys playing “Night Night.” This is a pretend we’re asleep game. Say Ari is laying on the bed, he’ll point to the pillow and tell us “night night,” which means we are to join him. He [...]
