NO MELODY in music anymore….most of the people I talk to have no idea what I’m talking about……….I only know a few bands that have very good melody……and I’m not talking like 4 notes……like Adele or whoever………I mean, they are great and all but…….nothing special…….music is written so bad. Okay, perhaps the title of the article is wrong and I should have left it closer to what the video itself is called.. Why Radio & the Music Industry Sucks Nowadays. As I noted “I should supplement my rant by saying that I am not saying there hasn’t been any good music since the mid 70’s. Lord knows I have liked or loved plenty of music since those days. And there are breakthrough artists that I think will be remembered, loved, respected and influential 40, 50, 100 years after they came out or were popular (if they ever got popular).” So I am not saying all music sucks, just 98% of the crap we hear on the commercial radio. The video blames a lot of it on the recording industry, which is true, but I think we can also blame the big mega radio owners like Clear Channel who aren’t interested in putting fresh original stuff over the air as much as DJs did a long time ago… Of course the system wasn’t perfect back then either with payola scandals. You yourself pointed out in the comment that “In fact, we’ve never heard so much music, and most of it sucks.”
I think digital downloads, YouTube and the like may save music. It means cutting the labels out of the picture. It is through this that people will be exposed to the stuff that the industry is denying us.

This video doesnt explain why music sucks or, more specifically, why that Green Day song at the end sucks. It just talks about the business and assumes that music doesnt suck, we’re just not hearing the right stuff. In fact, we’ve never heard so much music, and most of it sucks. Now why don’t you answer the question why it sucks??
