Ron Paul, America’s only candidate who’s policies would actually give us prosperity, peace and freedom, has spoke out on the tragedy in Virginia. Pointing out what should be obvious to all, but for a variety of reasons isn’t, that had students and/or faculty had been allowed to have concealed guns, they could have ended the massacre.
“A concealed gun carried by a responsible person — that might have ended the problem that they had at Virginia Tech with one person being killed or two people being killed.”
Ron Paul: More Guns Will Deter Shootings. Amen to that.
The story doesn’t mention it, but when Charles Whitman started his shooting spree from the bell tower in ’66, he was slowed down greatly by students who went back, got their guns and started shooting back at him. This forced him to keep taking cover and saved a great many lives.
Meanwhile, there is a cool poster at Rescue US. That quotes Ron Paul on taxes: “When I say cut taxes, I don’t mean fiddle with the code. I mean abolish the income tax and the IRS, and replace them with nothing.” Can we get another Amen? As an aside, did you know that even if we got rid of the Federal Income Tax, not one government service would go away? The Federal Income Tax is perhaps one of the biggest cons pulled over on the American people, right up there with the Federal Reserve, fiat currency and the loss of the “gold standard” and many others that relate to the same core issue. As Thomas Jefferson said of banks: “I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.”
