Why Worry About Real Crimes When We Got People Listening to iPods While They Cross the Street?
Feb 8th, 2007 by Brian A. Thomas
It seems Democratic New York State Senator Carl Kruger feels that police shouldn’t busy themselves fighting real crimes like rape and murder and should instead fine people for listening to an iPod, playing a game, talking on the phone or any other activity along those lines while crossing the street. Alright, I am sure he wouldn’t say “instead,” but every stupid thing like this (and victimless crimes such as drug use) you give police to worry about takes precious time and resources away that could be spent fighting real crimes. If people are stupid enough to walk out into a busy intersection without looking, a law will do them no good, and it is probably best they remove themselves from the gene poll, hopefully before they reproduce (okay, that one is a joke as well). Seriously though, this is about as stupid a law as I have heard for a while. Full story here.
