Real ID Update
Feb 6th, 2007 by Brian A. Thomas
I reported a bit ago about Main passing legislation to not comply with Real ID. Well Update AP News reports more states challenge the National ID card, with 6 more states expected to pass resolutions or laws to oppose Real ID, with 6 more states having active legislation. In all, there are at least 34 states that are expected to file laws that oppose or at least protest the Real ID act. A few sites for those who want to read more about it: The Identity Project and UnrealID (both ran by the same guy apparently) and Homeland Stupidity (which covers issues well beyond RealID, but I found it while researching if Ohio opposes Real ID or not, unfortunately I can’t find any information on Ohio’s stance… at least not on my very short search). All I can find is that the government will outsource the task of managing the IDs to a private firm. Hopefully with enough states opposing it, Congress will just repeal the law.

Thanks for the link.
I haven’t heard anything specific about Ohio, but it’s safe to presume that, like many states, they’re just bending over and taking it. And once they’re done, they’ll bend Ohio residents over and give it.
