Solar for Free

They install it, maintain it and do all the permits. You pay the same electric rate you do now for 25 years, so this can save you a ton over the time period. (We don’t qualify as you need a phone line, needed for the monitoring system, nor does our electric provider, AEP, provide net [...]

May I present to you an amazing and wonderful little video titled “The Little Girl Giant,” which was part of The Sultan’s Elephant, a big show put on in London. It is basically a giant 3 or 4 story high marinate of a little girl who is awaken by a time traveling elephant.

Ari’s K’s

One of the most noticeable aspects of Ari’s speech is that his K’s are pronounced as a T. There are a few other things as well, but that is one of the ones that can be heard clearly and identified. Once he has his 3 year checkup soon… wow… 3 years… we’ll have his doctor [...]

Bravo Maine

A big cheer to Maine for rejecting the Real ID Act. Let’s hope far more states oppose this vast invasion of privacy and government waste. Maine guesses it would have cost them over $185 million over 5 years to implement the plan. The Bush administration says the Real ID act is needed to fight terrorism. [...]

Back Online

As you can see, I am back online. I think the total downtime was less than 30 minutes, mostly to wait for my FTP client to delete all the old files from the server and than upload all the new ones. I am not sure why the deleting of the files took so long.
Things that [...]

You may recall in 2000 or so, California had a bunch of blackouts. Those on the left blamed California’s so called deregulated power industry, although it wasn’t a truly deregulated (to be fair, some on the right blamed it on that too). If it was truly deregulated there wouldn’t have been a price cap for [...]

Cool Time Waster for the Moment

There is a really cool game called Rooms that you have to try out. Here is a screenshot from their homepage:

The idea is fairly simple. Using your arrow keys you move your character around, getting objects if needed. You then have to move rooms around like the old slider puzzles. So for the screenshot above, [...]

More Troops?!

I decided to say something about Bush’s plan to send 20,000 more soldiers to Iraq.
First off, I supported us going to war. I think it was needed. Saddam had been threated every year by the UN with military action, sometimes several times a year, ever since Desert Storm. They were a toothless threat. We finally [...]

Tax Season

It is that time of the year again…
Daffy Duck: Wabbit season!
Bugs Bunny: Duck season!
Daffy: Wabbit season!!
Bugs: Duck season!!
Daffy: Wabbit season!!
Bugs: Duck season!!
Daffy: Wabbit season!!!
Bugs: Duck season!!
Daffy: Wabbit season!!!
Bugs: Duck season!!
Let’s pull that last poster off and see that no, it’s tax season. As nice as it would be to hunt taxes and thin them out, [...]

Ari Learning His Letters and Numbers

Ari is starting to recognize several letters and numbers. If I show him a capital A, he knows it is the letter A. He knows a bunch of others, but thinks Q is an O, which is understandable at this point. Now we just need to start working on the phonics of the letters with [...]

MoyoGo for Free

Moyo Go Studio is now available for free. You won’t be able to get technical support from the author, the database isn’t nearly as big as in the paid version, the printing/publishing module isn’t there, and you don’t get the lifetime of free updates, but if you wanted to check it out you now can. [...]

You Can OD on Water?!

Woman in Water Drinking Contest Dies is the headline of a story about a woman who ODed on water. Didn’t drown, but died of water intoxication. I never would have thought it was possible. I would think that you would get sick long before the body was able to reach that point.

No Pictures for Some Time

There will be no more pictures for some time.
Somebody let Ari play with the camera and he destroyed it… well, he somehow broke one of the pins that read the CF card so it won’t work anymore. I don’t know right now if we’ll use tax return money to get a new camera or not… [...]

Salmonella

I forgot to update on what they decided Ari had, salmonella, and the fact that he came home Tuesday. The salmonella probably came from the Iguana, even though we never handle him like we should, we handle his water dish, which is probably contaminated and the cross contamination happened from there. Everyone is much better [...]

Really Cool Music

I discovered this group watching Noggin with Ari, they were on one of the Move to the Music segments (unfortunately the video isn’t on that page yet since the video is part of new episodes of Jack’s Big Music Show which haven’t aired yet). Anyhow, the group is called Nuttin but Strings, which mixes Hip-Hop [...]

To the Emergency Room

I wrote earlier how we all had some stomach flu. Well about 10 PM last night I took Ari to the emergency room. He had slept all day, wouldn’t drink anything and his diarrhea was pure water, not to mention a fever of 103 or something like that. Amazingly we got into the room real [...]
