I just got an email telling me I won an item on eBay. Odd how I haven’t bid on anything in a long time. Odder still that I got the email at an account not used on eBay. Not a very well researched scam. Heck the item number doesn’t even show as an eBay auction, so not very well executed auction. The links also linked to a site that wasn’t eBay… I didn’t follow them, but I would bet that they look like eBay. How many people though actually go, “oh, I didn’t know I bid on a $1300 tanning bed. I guess it’s good I won though. I’ll send my money right away”? Perhaps those not as dumb follow the links and complain at the site there, where they are told by an “eBay representative” that the auction was real and they are indeed obligated to pay for the item.
