Who Goes to County Fairs?
Jul 10th, 2006 by Brian A. Thomas
If you didn’t already know about Ohio’s new ID Law to Vote, the only way you would know about it, outside a few news stories (like this), are flyers the state will be handing out at county fairs. No ads in print or the TV. Of course this may be a bunch of nothing since they do plan on sending out mail reminders sometime before the election in November. However, I still have to wonder about the idea of handing out flyers at county fairs. I don’t think I have ever been to a county fair. I have to doubt any real percentage of the state’s population goes to county fairs on any kind of regular basis, and of those what percentage would actually go to the state’s election office booth to get a flyer about the changes in ID requirements to vote? What a waste of tax dollars, unless the booths are manned by volunteers, and they are given booth space for free.
