Contender 2

There doesn’t seem to be much information out there about The Contender 2 at the moment. What I can gather so far is that it should have been filmed already. It was likely to focus on Welterweight class fighters (147 lbs weight limit, Jr. Welterweight’s limit is 140 lbs, so from there to 147). I have read some places that non-professional boxers may have been admitted, I would guess they didn’t let any Joe off the street and still require a good amateur record to get in. The show returns July 18th.
A quick scan of The Ring’s Ratings, doesn’t show any of the Season 1 Contenders on the list, though their Annual State of the Game Report talks about a couple of them anyhow, so perhaps they are just below the top 10 in their class. Oddly, season 1 isn’t on DVD yet.
