Lost S2E21 - ?
May 11th, 2006 by Brian A. Thomas
Yet another stunning episode of Lost.
Before we get to that.
Here is the book that Swayer was reading the other week:

Bad Twin
I have to wonder if any real clues are in it, or if it is mostly red herrings. I like that one of the reviews comments:
I bought this book because I had read about the author dying in a plane crash on a flight from Sydney to Los Angeles, his manuscript having just been delivered to a publisher who was now publishing the book.[stuff cut out] I have since learned this was all a promotional gimmick, the said author is actually a fictional character on the TV show Lost (which I have never see) [more stuff cut] Finding out that the real author did not die in a plane crash made me feel like I had been cheated. Amazon even states in it’s about the author info, the story of the author dying in a plan crash-it’s a lie! I guess people that watch the show know this is all part of the show, but I am sure many people like me are buying this book because we believe what is written in the about the author page. There is something not kosher about this!
I would think the big Lost logo on the cover would have been a clue… Lots of rumors that the book was written by Stephen King, but my guess is that it was actually written by one of the staff writers.
So Michael got away with it. Libby tried to tell them, but Jack mis-understood. Apparently we will get more of her back-story, but they say she is dead… perhaps in the last episode?
In the last orientation film we saw for Swan station, Dr. Candle had a prosthetic arm. For the Pearl station he no longer has it, and is called Dr. Wendhall. Perhaps he is they mysterious “him.” I don’t know if I would buy into the evil twin theory for this case, as they have different last names. He said that “they,” referring to one or more of the stations, think that what they are doing is important, but that it is actually just part of an experiment. He didn’t say which station it is that he is referring to. It could be that they are all doing fake experiments, it could be Swan’s button pushing is fake, it could be that another station is doing something fake, it very well could be that Pearl is the one doing fake stuff (seems awfully odd to record every detail, no matter how small it may seem).
The “we need to watch that again” joke comes full circle.
The father of the girl who came back from the dead is the psychic who told Claire that she needs to be the one to raise her child, that she couldn’t put it up for adoption. That moment seemed real enough, yet he told Eko that he is a fake. Perhaps he was lying to Eko. Perhaps he normally is a fake, but got a real vibe for Claire. Perhaps him telling Claire to give the baby up to people in LA and having to be on the island was after he was contacted by the people who run the island and wanted her there. It is yet another Lostie connection.
I need to find out if Libby is the lady in the picture with Desmond. Perhaps that is how we’ll get her backstory.
