The United States is to Violate Biological Weapons Convention
Mar 18th, 2006 by Brian A. Thomas
The US House has passed HR 2829, which if passed by the Senate, will make the United States violate the pact against Biological Weapons by having the drug czar to formulate plans to test biological weapons designed to kill various drug crops. Some of the biological weapons of choice that the US wants to use in places like Columbia, who objects to the weapons being used in their country, pose serious health risks to humans and the environment, with no guarantee the fungus won’t mutate and attack other plants. Did they learn nothing from Agent Orange? I urge you to contact your Senator and tell them to refuse passage of the Senate version when it comes up, and tell your Representative that you don’t appreciate them passing a bill that violates the US agreements on biological warfare. The literally billions of dollars our federal government spends on the drug war doesn’t need to increase millions more in researching these weapons. Perhaps they need to see Traffic to see how stupid this all is. There are alternatives to our current drug war policy that are far more effective, and cost billions less.
