More Lost speculation and observations, this time mostly from the TCF.
The main Other guy we saw is called, Zeke, at least by Swayer, so that name will probably stick until we confirm if he is Gerold DeGroot or not. He quoted Alvar Hanso at one point during the meeting with Jack and them, which may lead to proof that he is DeGroot. The credits list him as Mr. Friendly.
When he had Kate brought over, he had Alex bring her over. Could this Alex be Danniel’s Alex?
Perhaps the Others were not well armed until the stole Jack’s guns. This may be why they wanted them so bad. Zeke may not have lied about his numbers, but those people may not have been as well armed as Zeke himself was. It doesn’t seem like Swayer was shot by anything powerful, perhaps just a bb gun. Perhaps Zeke got Kate’s gun.
Perhaps they have camera’s in the hatch. This may explain how they know people’s names and how they knew that Locke had another gun. And while a stretch, it may also explain the taking your shoes off in the house analogy that Zeke used. It was an odd analogy to use since they would leave if they could, well, most of them would anyhow.
Back to my speculation. Perhaps there is no real way off the island since Zeke didn’t offer a way off the island. Unless he doesn’t want the outside world knowing about the island. He saw them on the raft trying to escape, yet his speech is about staying on their side of the island, not getting off the island. Perhaps proof there is no way off the island.
