One Party Down
Dec 24th, 2005 by Brian A. Thomas
One Christmas party down, one more to go. I had a good time at Linda & Wayne’s house with the Thomas family. Most of my time was chasing Ari who kept exploring the same stuff over and over and over… He would go by the fireplace, hold his hand out and say “hot,” or his equivalent to hot anyhow, then goto a speaker and say music (meme). He would point to some lights and say “light” and the clocks and say “a lock” which is about as close as he gets to clock at the moment. He pointed to the toy snake and said something like “snake,” but can’t recall what it was exactly. I didn’t get much time to visit since I was chasing Ari most of the time. He did try to blow out some dinner candles at some point, so somewhere along the way he has learned to blow out candles and may be ready by the time of his next birthday. Anyhow, I was at church doing song lyrics for the 5 p.m. service (literally, standing room only with quite a few people standing along the walls, I don’t know how crowded it was for the 7 p.m. service) then went to Sara’s house to pickup Ari (I dropped him off as he has a cold so I can’t put him in the nursery, and can’t watch him while doing the lyrics) and then the long drive into Akron from there. It probably doesn’t help that I kind of took a way that turned out not to be as fast as I thought it would be and should have taken the way I originally was going to take.
