Yet More Lost S2E8 - Collision
Nov 28th, 2005 by Brian A. Thomas
First to quote a bit of one of my posts over at the TCF about this episode:
Just for the record the other crossword clues we see (all down) / answer if seen as Locke filled them out:
33: Name
36: Macbethplace / Iona
37: Belgian port / Ghent
38: Robbed / ransacked
40: WWII movie feature hyph. wd.
42: Enkidu’s Friend / Gilgamesh
43: Less BrazenThe answers across that don’t seem to make sense in light of Gilgamesh:
42: (G)hare
47: S(I)end
53: Aco(l)ns
59: Im(G)tative
64: La(A)
??: ??is(M)skeet
73: E(S)pers
78: A(S)ids
??:??ag(H)r
Well, it looks like Slegeweb’s Lost… Stuff may have a clue on their Investigations page.
Take a closer look at Locke’s crossword puzzle and you’ll see a clue and answer involving Enkidu and Gilgamesh, from the Epic of Gilgamesh. Also notice it is number 42 down, and that the correct answer GILGAMESH makes all the words intersecting it wrong. Is this a clue? Perhaps we are meant to figure out what the wrong words are suppose to be (such as ACORNS, SPEND, IMITATIVE, etc) and then use the new letters replacing GILGAMESH (perhaps unscramble them) for some reason? I haven’t found a solution yet, but will be looking into it. Here’s a current list of replacement words:
G=Chare,Share
I=sCend, sHend, sPend
L=acoRns
G=imItative
A=laB, laC, laD, laG, laM, laP, laR, laS, laT, laV, laW, laX, laY
M=?*skeet, rallyisT skeet?
E=Apers, Upers
S=aCids, aMids, aRids
H=pagErLikely solution: SCRIPTURE
While Scripture fits the words across better, it doesn’t seem to fit the clue. It is nice to see I am not the only one who was working on it though. ![]()
